How much does a payment plan cost?

Patients pay exactly what they owe in affordable payments over time. Payment plans have 0% interest and $0 fees. There are no late payment, modification, or overpayment fees.

How long are payment plans, and how much do I pay monthly?

During the enrollment process, you’ll select the best terms that work for you. You can choose from multiple payment plan offers that may range from 3 months to 60 months. 

The monthly payment will depend on the total bill amount and the term (number of months) you choose. Typically patients choose monthly payments that are between $25 to $100.

Can I make changes to my payment plans?

Yes! If you would like to change your payment plan, simply contact our support team to modify your plan. You can:

  • Request a new payment due date
  • Request a new monthly payment amount
  • Request a new payment term length
  • Temporarily pause your plan

We’re happy to help, and there’s no cost to change your payment plans.

What if I have questions about my bill?

The bills that PayZen presents are typically the final, adjudicated bills from your provider—this means the bills have gone through insurance and are ready to pay. If you don’t think your bill is accurate, please contact your provider or your insurance company, and they will update our systems to present you with accurate bills.

What are my payment method options?

You can make payments via checking account, debit card, HSA/FSA card, or credit card. You also have the option to change payment methods in your PayZen Account.

What if I want to pay my bill in full?

You can simply visit your provider’s online portal to pay your balance in full. 

If you’ve already enrolled in a payment plan, you can also pay your remaining balance through your online PayZen Account. To do this, simply use the One Time Payment feature and pay off your balance.

What if I want to pay my bill faster?

To pay your balance faster, you can login into your PayZen Account and make a one-time payment. Your payment plan will be shortened accordingly.

For example, if you have a plan with a $50 monthly payment, you can make a $100 one-time payment and the plan will automatically be shortened by 2 months.

You can also pay your bill faster by requesting a change to your monthly payment amount. To do this, simply contact our support team to modify your plan.

What if I want my monthly payment date to be a different date?

If you would like to change your plan payment dates, simply contact our support team to modify your plan.

What if I can’t pay my bill for a month or two?

We know that life happens. If you need to pause your payment plan, simply contact our support team to modify your plan—we’re here to help!

What if I want to remove a bill from my payment plan?

If you would like to remove a bill, simply contact our support team to modify your plan. Once the bill is removed, we’ll confirm new terms of the plan.

After that, we will work with your hospital or provider to make sure that the removed bill is re-integrated into their billing and records systems and you’ll pay directly to your provider.

Can I cancel my payment plan?

If you would like to cancel your payment plan, simply contact our support team to modify or cancel your plan. Once we cancel the plan, we’ll work with your hospital or provider to make sure that the bills associated with the plan are re-integrated into their billing and records systems.

This means that you may still owe a partial, or full balance.

What if I receive a new bill? Can I add that to my existing payment plan?

If you receive a new bill from your hospital or provider, you will receive a communication from PayZen. You will then have the opportunity to create a new plan for your new bill(s).

I entered my last name and date of birth, but it’s giving me an error. What should I do?

Usually, this is because the date of birth or last name was not correctly entered. Remember to enter only your last name, not your full name. We recommend double-checking that you entered the right information. 

In some instances, the error is because your name is mis-spelled in your provider’s system, or because of a change in your final bill amount that makes it ineligible for a plan through PayZen. Contact your provider to double-check.

Is my personal and medical information secure?

Yes! PayZen prioritizes information and data security; we are SOC2 & HIPAA compliant. We follow strict information security guidelines and practices to make sure that personal and medical information is secure—only guarantors and/or patients can view their medical billing data.
